Not Waving: Behind The Scenes
The principle photography for Not Waving, The Curious Room's next short is now complete.
We had an amazing couple of days on the beach and weather held out for us (for the most part).

On day one we captured the majority of the ambient scenes with Mary (Kate Sawyer) so Shelley Davenport, our 1st AD, took the helm on directing those scenes with DOP Ricky J Payne behind the camera and Mollie Hill acting as his assistant.

The afternoon bought a little stormier weather and we caught some key footage with the fantastic Shaun Williamson before we moved on to our pivotal action scene.

This saw Kate Sawyer resuming her directorial role as fearless actors James Holmes, Jules Brown and Raphael Bar getting into the (by this point rather rough sea) with Susie Amy on shore to join the action once they were safely on land.

This saw our DOP, Ricky and his assistant Mollie getting knee deep it the waves to capture some up close action shots. We are really excited about the rushes we've seen so far!

Our second day of filming brought the us the sun (ideal for our plot!) and we had a joyful day on the beach filming with some renowned actors; Sue Holderness, Arthur Bostrom, Elizabeth Elvin, David Warwick and Jeff Harmer, as well as some new faces; Tommy Doyle, Andrew James Deane, Claire Dewar and Simon Murray.

All in all the process of filming was an exciting one and it was such a privilege to work with such brilliant actors.

The film is now in post production, which means that by the end of the month we will have a rough cut that will allow composer, David Rowntree and graphic artist Moglich to start their contributions to Not Waving.
We can't wait to share the next part of the journey with you!
